Geko: Irrespective of whether Pavlov Joseph's appearance in the England change room was a plot, the fact remains that someone was able to breach stadium security and gain access to one of the teams.

That Joseph merely wanted to remonstrate with the players and did not harbour a more sinister intent is fortunate indeed.

It comes as no surprise that instead of learning from the incident and accepting responsibility, the "General" went on the offensive, attacking a tabloid journalist and his paper.

Police commissioner General Bheki Cele's posturing and attempts to deflect attention from the real issue merely reinforce the fact that somebody failed to do his/her job.

Strangely, even after the breach by Joseph, security at Durban's Moses Mabhida stadium remains obvious by its absence.
