Vuyo Sabani, Germiston: For a hard-hitter like Bareng Batho-Kortjaas (BBK) to adopt a mild stance towards the SABC over its bungling of the Bafana game against Sierra Leone reflects self-censorship.

In his column "Bafana still have lots to do" (October 12) he stayed clear of saying the SABC was out of line for whatever reason for not screening the game.

This exposes his predicament that as the corporation's employee - as sport presenter on Metro fm's Mafutha Jam breakfast show - his independence is compromised. I'm no longer sure about his tagline, "his reputation precedes him, controversy is sure to follow", because he toes the line.
