ANC off to beg in China: iLIVE

So after the acknowledgement by the ANC, it could be speculated that the reason they sent a high profile delegation to China was to secure funding for their centenary celebration next year.

As much as the celebration is an important milestone in our countries history, I do feel with due respect that the ANC is giving the event more status than the plight of the tornado victims in Gauteng and Free State.

I applaud Transnet for rejecting the ANC request for a donation.  I would not be surprised if the National Lottery or the NYDA found it  acceptable to fund the ANC event, because it is “national interest” .

My biggest fear is that the applications may turn to demands and threats like in the case of the Port Elizabeth mayor who in a veiled threat to companies that did business with his municipality  “demanded” donations for the ANC  municipal election campaign.
