'They poke fun at black we just laugh along'. I beg to differ. I think this is a bit too much. Primarily because this is framed along the black and white complex that dogs everything about South Africa.

Whilst the reasons for Majola Majola's argument might be clear, Our Perfect Wedding does not show what is not there.

It's not some script written to degrade our people. The show is a reflection of how our people live. For the first time we see our lives being reflected on the screen hence it's a big hit.

What's Majola's argument on instances were the show has showed great, well organised beautiful weddings?

Television, just like any other media platform, is a powerful tool in socialising a people. The more we know about each other as black people, the more we will be able to confront what needs to be fixed about us as a people.

It is then that we can start doing shows that set about the positive narrative we want.

Black people in this country alone are a very diverse group of people. We are not at all like the narrative that's being set out by Generations and all these shows that are supposed to show off the mystical black elite.

Mind you this black elite is in a minority amongst black people. That kind of TV has long lost its time.

We have a varied number of cultures spread along different classes as a people. We need South African Black TV raw as it is to reflect this diversity.

Not set some cookie cutter narrative of who we are to avoid shaming ourselves from white people. We are liberated, we are a solid TV viewer base that should be seen telling its own stories. Our TV will transform and get better when our people's lives get better.
