Jimmy Manyi is an angry, ruthless and arrogant person. I even doubt if he is capable or understands his role as a government spokes person.

This comes from me not as a journalist (because I am not) but as an ordinary South African citizen and taxpayer. If he has a tiff against the media for whatever reason understood by him this must not affect the general public, he must just execute his responsibilities assigned to him.

The general public deserves a right to know about everything that is taking place in our government institutions. The public had voted for those people in there, to run the country on its behalf and it is the government’s responsibility to account.

Jimmy Manyi is that channel through which the accountability by the government to the South African’s indigenous, tax paying citizens must travel.

For the sake of an efficient and thorough accountability from government he needs to be lenient to the media and stop behaving like some leader of a political party. The media is the general public’s only source of information.

It is not up to him to judge and conclude against the media but the South African public. I want to believe that there are correct channels that he can utilise for complaining against the media if he has a problem, but doing it in public in the public view in front of the nation is not one of them.

When we see him either in the public eye or television and news papers we expect him to do what he’s paid for finish and klaar.
