The SABC paid over R100,000 for its employees' M-Net and DStv subscription fees.

A probe by the Special Investigating Unit found the public broadcaster's staff preferred watching M-Net and DStv, and that the company paid for these television privileges News24 reported.

The probe covered the period from September 2007 to March 2010.

The unit had been investigating widespread corruption, wasteful expenditure, fraud, undeclared interests and a broad spectrum of unethical conduct at the SABC.
