Comedian Trevor Noah is getting flak from his fans and followers on Twitter after making a joke about Olympian Oscar Pistorius.

Noah, who tweeted about an hour ago, “And the Oscar goes to – Jail”, is said to be “insensitive” and “seeking attention” by his fans.

Expresso presenter Katlego Maboe responded to Noah saying,”Sorry but that is so inappropriate right now. Yes it's your job to be funny but did you have to?”.

Top Billing presenter Janez Vermeiren said “@Trevornoah c'mon you are more than talented and have enough followers, you don't need to seek attention like this!"

Last week Friday Noah made headlines for debuting his comic talent on international news channel CNN, but it seems today he is not a favourite to many.

One Ayesha Sindhi ‏wrote: “Lost all respect for @Trevornoah! How can one be so insensitive? I agree with @Janez_Vermeiren. Have a heart man.”

Another S'thembiso wrote: “Wow this #OscarPistorious things has South Africans debating then you have that closet queen @Trevornoah making fun ugh! Don't know anymore”.
