When Mcebo Olyate Sisulu told the Wits university paper about his childhood in the Sisulu household, he wasn't being entirely honest.

“I love the ANC (African National Congress). When I was introduced to politics I was inducted into the ANC … I was born into it and the family, so everywhere I go I see black, gold and green," He told the Wits Vuvuzela, while claiming his father was Zwelakhe Sisulu.

The paper got a bit leery of Mcebo when he claimed to be studying towards an undergraduate degree in politics and an honours degree in mathematical statistics.

When they checked Facebook he claimed to have degrees in actuarial science and nuclear physics.

Then it turned out Mcebo Olyate Sisulu's name was actually Mcebo Olyate Dlamini.

In a chance meeting with Max Sisulu the paper asked him about Mcebo, and he answered “My family knows nothing of a Mcebo.”

“… Zwelakhe didn’t have a lovechild, so I don’t know.”

Finally, last week Mcebo confessed, admitting he was not the son of Zwelakhe Sisulu, and he only used the surname as a stage name.
