Large parts of the City of Joburg are still without water following an electrical outage which disabled a Rand Water pump station in Eikenhof.

The power failure caused water outages in Weltevreden, Honeydew, Randpark Ridge, Auckland Park, Laanglaagte, Mellville, Radiokop, Strubensvalley, Littefalls/Ruimsig, Parkview, Allensnek and Florida.

Johannesburg Water said the reservoir levels are still very low after last nights power cuts and it will take a number of hours before normal supply would be fully restored. They were not able to give an exact time when water supply will be fully restored.

Infrastructure works have also disrupted water supply in Sandton, Sandhurst, Highlands North, Orange Grove, Midrand, Tshepisong, Corporate Park and Savanah Hills.

Johannesburg water says water at the areas mentioned above should be restored by 6pm tonight.

Johannesburg Water apologises to the residents in affected areas for the disruption caused by the water outages.
