After a sixteen year old boy was arrested for murdering his grandmother with an sword his horrified friend told reporters how he had "imagined himself as an assassin”.

According to the Roodepoort Report the 16-year-old alleged killer  had sought refuge in his friend's house after using his sword to stab his grandmother to death.

His friend was horrified at the crime, and told the record that, “he always spoke highly of assassins and serial killers and imagined himself as an assassin”.

“He romanticised murder, he said that he would murder people.”

“There must have been fear instilled in the family because his sister locked herself in her room and was not attacked because of it,” he said, “I understand that their domestic worker fled from the house.”
