Electricity demand should outstrip the available supply by 4000MW making load-shedding likely on Tuesday evening. Eskom tweeted on Tuesday morning that “the load-shedding prognosis for today remains medium to high”.In last week’s “System Status Update”‚ the power utility said that the capacity available to meet Tuesday evening’s peak demand is 27 988MW‚ “while demand is forecast at 32 010MW”.Eskom’s embarked on “massive maintenance” over the long weekend “in an attempt to improve the performance and reliability of its generating units ahead of the expected peak winter demand”...
