Five-year-old boy stabbed by Boksburg hijackers

Police in Boksburg have launched a manhunt for three suspects who hijacked a vehicle and stabbed a 5-year-old boy several times last night. The crime took place sometime approximately 7pm in Trichardt Road‚ Boksburg.The vehicle‚ VW Golf‚ was later recovered on the same road.Police said in a statement the 5-year-old boy is recovering in hospital‚ where he is in stable condition. "It is alleged that the victim‚ the owner of the vehicle‚ was driving along the road when he was approached by three suspects when he stopped at the robot. They blocked his vehicle and pointed at him with a firearm."He was then pushed out of the vehicle and the suspects drove away with the vehicle while his son was inside."At a later stage his vehicle was found abandoned and his son was laying in a nearby ditch with injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital where a physician confirmed the stab wounds." Police are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
