Murder-accused Christopher Panayiotou will take a second shot at bail on Monday when his high-profile lawyers flit off to the Grahamstown High Court. Panayiotou‚ 28‚ beefed up his legal team by hiring celebrity advocate Mike Hellens SC after his first bid at bail failed dismally in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court last month.Panayiotou is accused of orchestrating the murder of his school teacher wife Jayde‚ 29‚ in April. It is alleged he paid a bouncer at his Infinity night club‚ Luthando Siyoli‚ 31‚ to hire hit man Sizwezakhe Vumazonke‚ 30‚ to kidnap and murder Jayde. All three men are in custody and Siyoli has since turned state witness. While Panayiotou will not attend Monday’s proceedings and will instead eagerly await news from his St Albans Prison cell‚ Hellens will argue on his behalf. – The Herald..
