The fraud case against the former head of the National Youth Development Agency‚ Andile Lungisa‚ and his three co-accused saw yet another postponement on Thursday. Lungisa‚ his wife Ursula Sali‚ as well as business associates Thabo Shogole and Xolisile Guqaza‚ appeared in the Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on charges of fraud and money laundering.The state alleges that the Department of Arts and Culture was defrauded by the accused claiming R2.5-million for the appearance of US R&B artist R Kelly at the Nelson Mandela Sport and Culture Day concert in August 2013 at the FNB Stadium in Soweto.The singer‚ who was on tour in South Africa‚ was unaware of the arrangement.The case was postponed to September 16 for the state to make a final decision on representations Lungisa and his co-accused have made. It is not known what is contained in these representations.At their last appearance in July‚ prosecutor Ronel Dookun asked for the case to be postponed so that the decision of the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DDPP) on the representations could be confirmed.Dookun said at the time that the DDPP's decision had already been made.But on Thursday the case could still not be finalised.The case dates back to 2013‚ when the matter of representations on behalf of the accused was first raised. - TMG Courts and Law..
