A man arrested with a tik haul worth R900,000 will appear in the dock once he has been formally charged, Western Cape police confirmed on Wednesday.

The bust took place at about 15:00 on Tuesday afternoon, police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel André Traut said in a statement.

“Members of the Western Cape Flying Squad pulled over a vehicle on the N1 freeway [near] Goodwood, after information was received about drugs being transported.

“After searching the suspect’s vehicle, they found three one kilogram bags of tik in the vehicle,” he said.

The suspect, a 43-year-old man, was arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs.
