A nine-year-old girl child escaped an alleged kidnapper by the skin of her teeth - she bit him.

According to the Northcliff Melville Times the girl was on her own on the street just outside her school when an unknown man approached her and took her away.

He offered her some pills, but she refused. Instead she bit him and ran away.

“Two hours later, a woman found the girl crying in a nearby street and took her back to her school. The girl’s parents reported the incident at the Fairland police station. A case of kidnapping was opened and no arrest has been made,” Fairland police spokesperson Constable Michael Kgatla said.

Kgatla is urging anybody who knows anything about the incident to call Fairland police on 011-478-9413/4/5.
