KFC employee arrested for breaking into Middelburg store

An employee at a KFC franchise in Middelburg, Mpumalanga has been arrested for attempting to break into his place of employment and rob the business, police said.

Police patrolling the area spotted the 22-year-old on Tuesday morning around 02:00, police spokesperson Warrant Office L de Witt said.

He was found in possession of housebreaking equipment, suspected stolen property as well as duplicate keys of the franchise.

The suspect, Godright Stefaan Makgora, was arrested for attempted housebreaking and theft at a business premises.

Mokgora had made a brief appearance in the Middelburg Magistrate's Court where he was denied bail.

He was expected back in court December 9, 2015.
