Sindisiwe Manqele, who on Wednesday was convicted of the murder of her rapper boyfriend Nkululeko “Flabba” Habedi, has been granted bail pending her sentencing.

Evidence in mitigation and aggravation of sentence will be led next year.

Manqele‚ 26‚ admitted to stabbing Skwatta Kamp member Habedi, 37, in the chest on March 9 in his Alexandra, Johannesburg, home. But she pleaded not guilty to murder, saying she acted in self-defence during an argument.

On Wednesday (09-12-15) Judge Solly Sithole convicted Manqele of murder, finding that her version of events could not be reasonably possibly true.

Sithole signed a warrant for her detention as she had forfeited her bail and Manqele spent a night in a prison cell.

On Thursday, her counsel asked for a postponement to prepare for sentencing proceedings and applied for bail on her behalf.

Sithole granted Manqele R5,000 bail, with conditions.

Manqele was preiously out on bail of R10,000 so the total bail is R15,000
