#FeesMustFall protesters disrupt Wits registration

The #FeesMustFall campaign resumed at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) on Monday with students “protesting against academic and financial exclusions”. That’s according to a statement that said the university “can confirm that disruptions have occurred in Senate House and Hall 29 where students are registering today”.The university had opened registration for the 2016 acadamic year earlier in the day.“Management is engaging with the student groups to try to resolve this matter as soon as possible‚” it said.An update on the situation would be communicated to the “university community” at noon.The #FeesMustFall campaign last year forced the government to announce a 0% hike on university fees following widespread protests on campuses around the country.#FeesMustFall trended on Twitter‚ with Clyde Erasmus ‏@Cleido_ tweeting: “Lol seems we won't be registering anytime soon‚ protest action has resumed at Wits today #FeesMustFall”...
