The University of the Witwatersrand has asked students to remove their anti-Israel exhibition from the Library Lawns‚ accusing them of lying to management.

"The space was booked for the Orienteering Club under false pretences. It is now being used to promote #IsraeliApartheidWeek‚" Wits said in a statement.

"The students broke the University's rules and their behaviour is irresponsible‚ duplicitous and could put our campus at risk‚" Wits said in a statement.

Wits said the university allows peaceful protest on campus - in line with its rules‚ policies and procedures.
