WATCH: Thousands shop as Mall of Africa opens

Midrand was a frenetic buzz of activity with the opening of the 300-store Mall of Africa shopping centre‚ a 116‚000 square metre shopping centre that developers say is larger than Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront and a rival to Sandton City in size.

The mall opened its doors on Thursday 28 April 2016, with thousands of customers queuing to take advantage of various opening-day sales.

Over 300 retailers have a presence in the mall, with laptops, TVs, gadgets, and an array of other tech goods on special.
