Arrested cop ‘used official vehicle’ in cash heist

A Nyanga-stationed cop will be held in custody until Friday following his arrest on Tuesday night in connection with a cash-in-transit robbery in Kraaifontein. The Hawks’ “investigations into the circumstances of the robbery led to the arrest of a 33-year-old police constable at his residence in Khayelitsha”.“One bag containing cash was recovered‚” said Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation spokesperson Lieutenant Lloyd Ramovha‚ who added that he “used an official vehicle in the execution of the crime”.“Five suspects are still at large and are being sought.”“The group is alleged to have pulled over a cash-in-transit at Wabrug Road and robbed the guards at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.”The constable is due to appear in Kuilsriver Magistrates Court on Friday...
