Two hijackers landed themselves in trouble after refusing to part with a vehicle they had snatched in the North West. Police on a routine patrol in Hebron in the early hours of Monday spotted two men pushing a silver Toyota Corolla along the Kgabalatsane-Rosslyn road.It is unclear if they ran out of fuel or were thwarted by an anti-theft device. The police recognised the car‚ which had been hijacked at gunpoint from the owner just hours earlier. The men‚ aged 22 and 30‚ made a run for it but were promptly caught and arrested.Police spokesman Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said that cellphones and a wallet belonging to the hijacked motorist were recovered‚ along with a firearm and five rounds inside the vehicle. The men were due to appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates’ Court on a charge of car-hijacking on Tuesday. - TMG Digital..
