A man who conned people out of about R700 000 by offering investment in a fraudulent residential development on the top of the Piketberg‚ Western Cape‚ has been found guilty and sentenced.The Bellville Specialised Commercial Crimes Court this week sentenced Jacobus Johannes Lambrechts‚ 68‚ to an effective three years imprisonment for fraud and theft plus five years suspended.In April the court heard how he led potential investors to believe he owned the land that was zoned for agriculture and told them it had be rezoned for residential purposes...
