Human trafficking accused due in court for bail hearing

Two truck drivers are expected to appear in court on Tuesday after being arrested on charges of human smuggling. Idrisa Yusuf Mussa and Danison Prahima‚ both aged 39‚ were arrested last week after police found 59 Malawian migrants crammed at the back of a truck.According to police‚ some of the migrants were found “in a dire state‚ suffering from dehydration”.“Police intercepted two suspicious trucks parked on the road near Marble Hall.“While conducting a search of the two trucks‚ police were shocked to discover 59 Malawian migrants‚ whom…include nine females‚ of which two are minors‚ and the rest are adult males‚” police said.Some of the migrants were also found with counterfeit passports - all 59 individuals will be charged for being in the country illegally.The formal bail application of Mussa and Prahima will commence in the Marble Hall Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga on Tuesday.The police investigation is ongoing...
