Man arrested for kidnapping teen‚ alongside woman who faked her own abduction

The Hawks Organised Crime Unit has arrested a second suspect in a case involving a woman accused of trying to fake her own abduction and kidnapping a 14-year-old girl. Both will now appear before the Polokwane Magistrate's Court in September.Berdine Ronel Jordaan‚ 29‚ was arrested on charges of defeating the ends of justice‚ kidnapping and perjury last month. The Hawks allege that “Jordaan lied about being kidnapped whereas she was the one who kidnapped a 14-year-old girl”.The second suspect‚ Leon du Preez‚ 34‚ was arrested “after investigations revealed that he connived with Jordaan in kidnapping the girl”‚ according to the Hawks case that will be brought to court for determination.“Furthermore‚ Jordaan and the victim were found hiding at his house in Musina (more than 200km away from Polokwane) after they were reported to have been kidnapped‚” the Hawks assert.Authorities began to investigate at the end of July when Jordaan's husband reported that his wife had been kidnapped by unknown people in Ladanna‚ Polokwane.They found her car abandoned in one of the streets in Ladanna with all its doors wide open.But as the investigation unfolded‚ they found her at a house in Musina‚ hiding inside a cupboard. ..
