Suspect arrested in Mitchell’s Plain for possession of drugs

A 28-year-old man will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town on Monday after allegedly being found in possession of a large quantity of drugs. Western Cape police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk said the suspect was arrested on Thursday afternoon after by Mitchell's Plain Crime Prevention Unit members received information about drug dealing in Merrydale Road‚ Portlands.“Upon arrival they noticed a man standing in an alley‚ who raised their suspicion when he saw the police van. When officers searched him they found clear plastic bags containing drugs‚” Van Wyk said.He said the drugs found in the man’s possession included 64 packets of Tik‚ 47 units of heroin‚ six full and 71 half Mandrax tablets and 10 stoppe of dagga.The suspect will face a charge of possession of drugs...
