A search and rescue operation is underway north of Durban for a man who was washed off Virginia Pier in the early hours of Thursday morning. “Emergency Services from the Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services and Police Search and Rescue responded to the pier in the early hours of this morning‚ following a report that a man had been washed off the pier by a wave‚” said KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services spokesman Robert McKenzie.“Family members of the man have gathered at the scene and have assisted officials with details to help identify him‚” he said.The missing man is‚ for now‚ presumed to have drowned...
