The tornado that touched down in Mpumalanga on Tuesday appears not to have caused any 'significant damage' - a day after another tornado destroyed homes in Ennerdale, south of Johannesburg.

People of the Grootvlei area spotted the tornado near the Grootvlei Power station.

  • ‘It sounded like a goods train’ - Ennerdale residents describe the moment the tornado hit“I saw it coming from the field there‚ I just saw a white and grey cloud that kept spinning‚ and then I called my friends to come‚” Reagan Geiger said.

Social media users were quick to post photos and videos of the twister.

The South African Weather Service said on twitter that radar images confirmed that the tornado occurred around 3.15pm.

The tornado reportedly caused no significant damage.
