Bakkie crashes into tree‚ leaving one dead‚ another injured

One person was killed and another injured when a bakkie crashed into a tree on the R103 between Colenso and Escort in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday night.

Paramedics from ER24 and other emergency services attended to the accident.

“A man who was found laying near the vehicle was assessed and found to be in a critical condition.

“He was treated and transported to hospital by ER24. His condition deteriorated while in hospital and he had to be resuscitated.

“Despite efforts to save him by staff‚ the man sadly succumbed to his injuries‚” said ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing Harduth.

“The driver of the vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated. He was also in a critical condition. He was attended to by another service‚” she added.
