Four people attacked by swarm of bees

Four people were stung several times by a swarm of bees at a depot in Klipspruit‚ south of Johannesburg on Tuesday afternoon‚ paramedics said.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found that a 57-year-old man and 45-year-old woman had taken refuge in the reception area.

“Paramedics assessed the two patients and found that they had sustained numerous stings‚” said ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring.

Both victims were treated for their injuries and then transported to Jabulani Hospital for further treatment‚ he said.

It was understood that two other men had also sustained numerous bee stings‚ he added.

“This occurred while they were cutting the grass nearby and apparently disturbed the bee hive. Both men were transported privately to a nearby hospital‚” Meiring said.
