Gunmen target Rosebank Mall in predawn raid on camera shop

Five armed robbers smashed through the glass windows of a camera store in Johannesburg's Rosebank Mall at 4.40am on Friday‚ police said.

An official said the suspects were toting "huge firearms".

They forced opened the glass door on the Bath street entrance before heading to the Kameraz shop‚ where they took an undisclosed amount of cameras. The security guard at that entrance had to take cover.

The swiftly executed robbery saw the suspects leave the mall at 4:41:55‚ with a white Mercedes A class and a silver Hyundai i30.
