Ferrari knows that the naturally-aspirated engine's days are numbered. Which is why they're unveiling the new 812 Superfast at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show on 9 March. Basically an ode to everything non-turbocharged the 812 comes bolted to a naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine juiced by a radical 350-bar direct injection system.
The results? Well you're looking at 718Nm, 588kW and, in part thanks to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, a 0-100km/h sprint time of just 2.9-seconds – figures that officially make the 812 the world's fastest and most powerful front-engined production car. Suck on that, turbos.
It also features active aerodynamics as well as the firm's Virtual Short Wheelbase system that first debuted on the F12 tdf limited edition back in 2015. A form of active rear wheel-steering it basically makes the 812 more maneuverable at slower speeds as well as more stable when exploring its limits. – Thomas Falkiner
