The McLaren 720S is the embodiment of speed

So far one of the fastest debutants of the 2017 Geneva Motor Show is the McLaren 720S – the first of the firm's new second-generation Super Series cars. Heavily influenced by the P1 hypercar, the 720S features a lightweight carbon fibre chassis (for a dry weight of 1 283kg) and is powered by a new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine that produces 537kW and 770Nm.

McLaren claims that this car will reach 100km/h in 2.9-seconds and run right up to 341km/h. Equally impressive is the speed at which the 720S comes a stop – hit the brakes at 200km/h and you'll be stationary in just 4.6-seconds.

Other highlights include a new generation of McLaren’s Proactive Chassis Control that not only provides better handling on the limit but more comfort when caught in the drudgery of day-to-day traffic. Then there's the little matter of looks: I think you'll agree that the 720S is probably one of the prettiest cars to come out of Woking in a very long time.
