Mpumalanga man beaten to death

A 24-year-old man died after three men assaulted him at a shopping complex in Bushbuckridge, says Mpumalanga police.

"It is not yet known what the cause of the Friday evening fight was... apparently the man had stolen something from them," said Captain Klaas Maloka.

The badly-beaten man died while being transported to hospital at around 5pm, he said.

Police called to the scene managed to arrest a 31-year-old man but two others fled.

The arrested man was expected to appear in the Bushbuckridge Magistrate's Court on Monday, facing a charge of murder.
