Zuma arrives at parliament

President Jacob Zuma's motorcade arrived at Parliament just after 6.30pm, where he is to deliver his state of the nation address at 7pm.

Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe arrived earlier, after, among others, Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo, former chief justices Pius Langa and Arthur Chaskalson, former National Assembly speaker Frene Ginwala, former deputy presidents Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka and Baleka Mbete.

Zuma was accompanied by one of his spouses, Sizakele Khumalo-Zuma, in the ceremonial procession from the Slave Lodge to the National Assembly building.

His two other spouses, Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma and Thobeka Madiba-Zuma took their seats in the National Assembly Chamber earlier.

Earlier, Zuma's motorcade was accompanied by a mounted police escort and a military ceremonial motor escort, along the route lined by the South African National Defence Force.
