Facebook boss exposed

HACKERS have published private photographs of Facebook head honcho Mark Zuckerberg to highlight a security glitch in the social network.

The BBC reported yesterday that 14 pictures of Zuckerberg were posted on image site Imgur under the headline ''It's time to fix those security flaws, Facebook''.

Facebook later said it had fixed the glitch, which related to tools designed to allow users to report inappropriate images.

Among the photos published were images of the Facebook founder and CEO preparing food with his girlfriend, meeting US President Barack Obama and holding a chicken by the leg.

The BBC report said: ''The embarrassing incident comes a week after the Federal Trade Commission slammed changes made to Facebook's privacy settings two years ago. It accused the social network of deceptive practices and demanded that it subject itself to regular audits over the next 20 years.''

Facebook said it had ''discovered a bug" that "allowed anyone to view a limited number of another user's most recently uploaded photos irrespective of the privacy settings for these photos."

Zuckerberg said in an interview with Britain's Sunday Times recently that he believed the world would be a better place if people were more open with their information.

''It's not that people won't care about privacy - privacy is a really fundamental thing and I think everyone cares about it.

"I think the thing that will change is that more and more people will have a real reason and get more value out of actively sharing stuff,'' he said.
