In "ANC victims of gunmen" (September 30), we incorrectly stated that ANC councillor Wandile Mkhize, a member of the regional executive in the Hibiscus region, died three weeks after being shot at his Manaba home on July 30. In fact, he died immediately.

We incorrectly described Mkhize as ANC chief whip in the Ugu district municipality. Fellow councillor Nhlakanipho Shange, who was also shot in the attack, died three weeks later in hospital. We regret the errors, which were introduced during editing.

Last week, in "Cosatu's 'nurse' and the breakdown of bedside manner", we incorrectly identified the Cosatu president as Sdumo Ndlovu. He is, in fact, Sdumo Dlamini.
