Missing in transit

South Africa's most loved puppet is officially missing. The 38-year-old Chester Missing was last seen in Montreal, Canada, at one of the world's most prestigious comedy festivals with comedian and ventriloquist Conrad Koch.Accompanying them at the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal was fellow South African comedian Jason Goliath. They had been invited to perform at the festival with other top international comedians like Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Mike Myers, Neil Patrick Harris, Rob Schneider, Jimmy Carr and South Africa's comedy demigod Trevor Noah. But it seems that, though Koch has made it back home safely, Missing hasn't.Speaking to The Times via Twitter, Missing said: "I'm locked in a dark place with just my phone for company and an ostrich called Hilary. I have been kidnapped by French people, but I can only hear them, I can't see them. I can't tell if they're French French or French Canadian."But fans can rest easy knowing that it is, in fact, only the body of the puppet that hasn't returned home.Koch explained that he travelled with the puppet's head as carry-on luggage and the body was in a hard-top suitcase that he checked in when he had left Montreal on Sunday. Previously, the suitcase the puppet was stored in was mistakenly taken by another passenger.Koch said: "The last time a guy just walked off with the suitcase."The fact that Chester is lost is frustrating but what can you do? Chester is probably in Montreal rocking with the other comedians or sightseeing in Paris. That's if someone let him out of his case. He could be stuck in there."..
