Core Group has announced that is will be launching ZABooks, a South African textbook app.

The standalone app will be launched towards the end of January 2013, and will include textbooks from all local publishers.

At launch it will have 400 textbooks pertaining to South Africa's curriculum, and more will be added later.

The books will range from grades one to 12, and will be for both public and private schools.

The app will allow bookmarks, notes, and for students to be able to highlight key content.

While the app itself will be free, the pricing for the textbooks will be determined by the individual publishers.
