A new cryptocurrency dedicated to porn, and only porn has launched according to a report.
Titcoin, a bitcoin spinoff, officially launched on June 21, and has joined the family of over 275 cryptocurrencies out there according to Design & Trend.
"Titcoin is mainly an idea that we came up with because we wanted to be very business minded. Sometimes we feel a bit uncomfortable talking about this matter because we're not trying to promote pornography per se.
"We're trying to promote a currency that is a conduit for that. We are walking that thin line. We are not really pornographers - we are basically business guys who are bringing in a currency which caters to a specific audience," One of its three founders, Edward Mansfield, explained.
According to Mansfield the advantage to the currency is that it allow porn-watchers to avoid having the related charges show up on their monthly credit card statements, as well as help keep user privacy tighter.
Bitcoin was the centre of a major controversy when one of its exchanges, Mt Gox instituted bankruptcy proceedings in the US.
Hopefully Titcoin will prove a harder currency.
