Video on Demand streaming service VIDI is boasting that it streams all of its content from within South Africa - guaranteeing faster speeds and less lag.

"Streaming speed is key to a quality VOD viewing experience and a VOD provider cannot expect to stream content from European servers, for example, over 13 500 km away, and create happy customers," said Janene Matsukis, VIDI spokesperson.

According to VIDI it found that one of its competitors was streaming from Germany.

VIDI peers at the Johannesburg Internet Exchange and Cape Town Internet Exchange.
