Gale force winds appear to be blowing the St Lucia estuary dry according to a report.

‘In 41 years of living here I have never experienced anything like this,’ Andrew Georgiou told the Zululand Observer.

 

While the event has residents and visitors flooding the St Lucia bridge to watch the spectacle - tour operators are worried about the future.

 

At least one hippo is also less than pleased with the spectacle.
