A five-months pregnant woman saved her husband after he was attacked by a three-metre-long crocodile, according to a Johannesburg newspaper report.

Lawrence and Kerrin Munro went for a walk with their dogs down to the White Umfolozi River near Richards Bay when the crocodile grabbed Lawrence’s left foot while he was washing his feet, reports The Citizen.

"Kerrin held onto me and was battling to stop me from being taken. I knew that if I ended up in the water, I would die," Lawrence told the newspaper.

The crocodile switched to Lawrence’s right foot but he managed to escape after the crocodile let go of his right foot and tried to bite his left foot again.

Lawrence was taken to Bay Hospital where he is recovering after having surgery on both his legs.
