A Tanzanian man arrested for dealing in drugs was sentenced at the East London Magistrate's Court on Thursday, Eastern Cape police said.

Captain Stephen Marais said Richard Jonas Mbanga, 43, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, three years of the sentence suspended for five years.

He said Mbanga, Mohammed Sultan and another man were arrested in 2007 after police found cocaine at their house. R23,000 in cash was also found at the house.

Mohammed Sultan, 34, was found not guilty and the third man failed to stand trial after they were granted bail.
