1. Becoming Barack 1.55pm, Discovery World

This is an insightful documentary about US President Barack Obama's amazing journey years before he became president.

The video is believed to be the oldest on file about him. It follows Obama from October 1993, when he was 32. Then, he was a lawyer and professor at the University of Chicago.

According to Discovery World, the channel airing the documentary, "the 15-minute interview has never previously been released". The interview gives an insight into how Obama gained power and how he evolved to become a leader 15 years later.

2. Icons Big Star Profiles 7.30pm, Vuzu

R&B recording artist, actress and fashion designer Beyonce Giselle Knowles is tonight's star.

Knowles came into the spotlight in the late 1990s and is said to be one of the world's fourth-most influential celebrities, behind Angelina Jolie, Oprah Winfrey, and Madonna.

3. Royal Wedding of Prince Albert of Monaco to Charlene Wittstock 3.30pm, SABC3

The second royal wedding spectacle this year takes place in Monaco. The Cote D'Azur's head of state, Prince Albert, is marrying South African Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock in what is speculated to be a breathtaking event.

4. Crimes that Shook Britain Season 2: The Murder of Rhys Jones9pm, Crime & Investigation Network

Stephen and Melanie Jones, the parents of an innocent 11-year-old boy, speak about the day they lost their son, Rhys.

Jones was shot on his way home from a football club by 18-year-old Sean Mercer in Liverpool in August 2007.

SUNDAY

5 . Cars7.30pm, SABC3

The animated movie is being aired for the first time on SABC3. It follows cars that display human characteristics.

The movie centred on Lightning McQueen, a skilled but arrogant, self-centred up-and-coming racer who hopes to be the first to win the fictional Piston Cup trophy.

While travelling to California for the race, McQueen accidentally damages a road at the small town Radiator Springs, and is sentenced to repair it.
