Murdered honeymoon bride Anni Dewani's family, including her 82-year-old grandmother, will fly to the UK to be at Shrien Dewani's final extradition hearing on Monday.

Speaking from his home in Sweden yesterday, Anni's father, Vinod Hindocha, said his 82-year-old mother, Nanduben Hindocha, would travel to London at the weekend. He hoped his son-in-law would be sent to South Africa to stand trial for murder.

"It's such a torture for us. The Dewanis must understand that there must be closure," he said.

Shrien Dewani "must face the trial and let the court decide whether he is guilty or not. He should not have any fear to go to South Africa," said Hindocha.

Anni was murdered in an alleged hijacking in Guguletu, Cape Town, while on honeymoon in November. She was shot in the neck.

Dewani was arrested after the driver of the vehicle in which they were travelling, Zola Tongo, told a court that Dewani had asked him to hire hit men to kill Anni. Tongo said he hired Mziwamadoda Qwabe and Xolile Mngeni.

Mngeni had an operation recently to remove a brain tumour and is said to be "gravely ill". Hindocha said: "I hope he gets well.

UK newspaper The Sun reported on Monday that Anni had told her sister that Dewani refused to sleep with her on their wedding night in Mumbai.

BBC Channel4 reported that Anni "cried herself to sleep alone on a sofa on their wedding day following a blazing row".

Dewani also allegedly paid for sex with a man at a club. He has denied all the allegations.

"It's very difficult for my wife and me. I haven't been to work for eight months now," said Hindocha.
