Educational psychologist Nina du Plessis has these tips for matrics for a successful exam day.

  • Don't get up early to go over your work again - just try to relax;
  • Don't study until midnight - make sure you sleep for eight hours;
  • Regular revision is the "magic wand" to ensure that you remember your work;
  • Don't discuss your work with friends just before you write your paper because you might doubt your own knowledge;
  • Tackle the easiest questions first and make sure that you don't spend too much time on questions that don't count for many marks.

Stressed matrics can phone the Depression and Anxiety Group's helpline - 0800-21-2- 23 - from 8am.
