Civil rights organisation AfriForum on Sunday condemned Kommandokorps training camps.

On Friday, the Mail & Guardian newspaper reported that a camp outside Carolina, Mpumalanga, was training teenage boys to hate black people.

The camp, called Kommandokorps, claims to have trained over 1500 boys.

The boys -- aged between 13 and 19 -- were told that black people were the most under-developed, barbaric members of the human race. The boys heard that blacks had a smaller cerebral cortex and therefore could not use their initiative or govern properly.

AfriForum CEO Kallie Kriel said the treatment of the boys was immoral and inexcusable.

The vast majority of Afrikaners were moderate and civilised people who were proud of their own cultural identity but also respected other cultural communities.

"It is regrettable that a small fringe group's actions can time and again be used to try and portray all Afrikaners in a bad light," he said.
