Some roads in the centre of Johannesburg were flooded on Friday morning, Johannesburg metro police said.

"The intersection of Commissioner and Troy Streets in the CBD is flooded, a car had to be towed off the water," said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnar.

He said motorists should avoid Commissioner Street and use Anderson as an alternative route.

"Roads are still slippery. Motorists are requested to drive carefully," he said.
